About Mohair

The story & vision.

Mohair was founded by Tony Wright in 2004 with a clear idea of the needs of modern men’s hair, and with the sense that men’s hairstyles at the time were lacking in innovation and quality.

That original point still holds. Mohair is about being more than just a barbers: strong technical work, a better atmosphere, current looks and the classic roots of barbering still intact.

How it all began

Built around the needs of modern men’s hair.

2004.

After studying ladies and gents hairstyling for many years, Tony saw that men’s hair was lagging behind in innovation and quality. Mohair was the answer to that.

More than just a barbers.

From the start, Mohair was meant to feel like more than a quick in-and-out trim. Strong work, sound advice and a proper atmosphere were part of the idea.

A shop that keeps moving.

Growing and learning has always been at the heart of Mohair. The aim has never been to stand still or fall back on the same old thing.

Our skills

Fresh and current looks, with the classic roots still intact.

Cutting & styling.

From the everyday cut through to longer hair and bigger restyles, Mohair aims to go beyond expectation rather than just meeting the minimum.

Beards, shaving and detail.

Beard shaping, hot towel shaves and a more considered finish all sit naturally inside the Mohair approach.

Colour and technical work.

Colouring, grey disguise and other technical services are part of the line-up too, with consultation and patch-testing where needed.

What still matters

No rushed appointments. No stale work.

We take our time making sure your new hairstyle is bang on. If you are fed up with being rushed through, Mohair was built around a different pace and a higher standard.
